Today it was finally time to do one of the boys' top 3 things for the entire holiday - Legoland. Needless to say the boys were very excited. Just getting to Legoland was an adventure itself. We had to catch the tube, train, bus and walk but everything fit together well.
Probably the one mistake, although it couldn't really be helped, was that we chose to go to Legoland on the first day of the UK school holidays. There were families with small kids everywhere and so as a result there were long, long queues.
The boys coped really well with the queues and with careful planning including not stopping for lunch when everyone else did (we just ate our rations on the go in the queues) we were able to do everything on the list that they really wanted to do. By not stopping for lunch we were able to walk straight in to the Star Wars Mini-experience which previously had an enormous queue. The same thing happened for other rides. Star Wars Mini-experience was pretty amazing and the boys clearly loved it.
Both boys also enjoyed posing with the full size Star Wars lego figures.
Just like Ocean World Park the rides where we got wet were a clear favourite with everyone again. Unlike Ocean World Park on the Viking River Splash spectators can shoot you with water cannons as you go past which added to the soak factor. When we got off the ride the boys raced to get to the cannons so they could shoot others. We all also had a lot of fun on Pirate Falls - a log canoe with a sheer drop into water below.
We also looked at the lego displays, went on the Atlantis submarine ride, Space Tower, and roller coasters (some of us went on smaller slower one's than others); David and Connor went on the Dragon roller coaster. Ryan and I had fun on the Spinning Spider which is like the Tea Cups at Disney Land.
With all the rides on the list exhausted and time running out (although there was many other activities to do) the boys decided it was time to shop. They had a ball choosing which lego they "needed". Connor got Star Wars lego, Hero Factory lego and a mini-figure. Ryan bought Batman and Superhero lego. The boys had a great time and we were glad we brought them to Legoland now as we think if we left it much longer they would have been too old for many of the rides.

Absolutely brilliant we can see why the boys wanted to visit it. What a great place.
