Time To Say Goodbye To The Ice Hotel

Tuesday March 20th 2012

We were woken up this morning at 7.30am with a cup of warm lingonberry juice. Sleeping in the cold room of the Ice Hotel was fantastic. It may get to between -5 and -8 degrees but David and I both agreed it was the best night's sleep we had had so far. Wishing we had booked more nights in the cold!!!

After we had gotten up it was time for the obligatory buffet breakfast - needless to say that with the extra weight we seem to be gaining we are sure the snow suits will soon be excess to requirements.

We were on a tighter schedule today. There was time to go back to our locker and get our bags all packed and to return our snow clothes. We decided to briefly have one last moment in the Ice Chapel before we needed to rendezvous with our bus back to the airport.

While waiting for the bus we ran into the Wedding Coordinator, Eva. This was a great stroke of fortune as Eva managed to very quickly get us a copy of the beautiful song Warmth that was sung at the end of our vow renewal ceremony.

After a brief flight back to Stockholm, we again caught the Flybuss back into Central Stockholm. As per the usual routine we seem to be developing, an emergency food stop at Burger King was then required.

During our meal it was decided the easiest way to get 4 exhausted people to our hotel on the Stockholm island of Djurgarden - "The Royal Game Park" - was probably by taxi. We walked back to the Flybuss Station and hailed a cab. Great driver, short trip - booked him to take us to the airport when we fly out. Although we didn't do a lot today we are all wiped out so decided to have a quiet night in and an early night.
