This morning David and the boys kindly walked with me down to Walthamstow Central tube station to see me off heading into central London for a one day conference. I took off to the Wellcome Collection Conference Centre while the boys went and had bacon and eggs for breakfast and tried to spend a computer game voucher they had been given by Allen.
Once I had arrived at the conference venue and past through security I couldn't see it listed and wondered whether I was in the right place. After some discussions with a girl on reception I discovered I was indeed in the right place, only I was here on the wrong day - the conference is tomorrow. On the plus side my logistics mission was successful and I can be confident that I know exactly how to get there tomorrow. Jet lag is a bad bad thing. That's my story and I'm sticking to it!!!!
I headed back to the tribe and explained my ordeal. Needless to say David thought this was hilarious. We then had a quiet day at home part from making plans of all the things we want to see and do in London and making a dash to Sainsbury's for emergency supplies of Ben and Jerry's ice-cream in assorted flavours. When Maggie and Allen came home from work we all went out to one of our old favourites when we lived in London - Harvester - for dinner. Followed of course by a desert of Ben and Jerry's. Here's hoping for a more successful outcome tomorrow.
