This morning we had to be up and ready to leave Maggie and Allen's house at 6.30am. It was a really tough morning with us all being upset about leaving. We made good time to the airport and checked in our luggage without any problems. It was then sadly time to say goodbye to Maggie and Allen and to go through security.
Ryan and I went went through the scanner and checks without any problems but when Connor came through with David something in one of the bags made the x-ray operator stop the conveyor belt, and put the bag back through several times before again stopping the belt and turning on a flashing light. This was to call for a supervisor. In the meantime while Ryan and I were waiting someone else came over and asked to swab my bag.
It turned out the reason for all the fuss was that Connor had his bullet keyring from the secret nuclear bunker in his hand luggage. Unfortunately the Supervisor confiscated it which left Connor very upset.
After a while we boarded our flight to Helsinki ready to make our connection to Bangkok. When we landed in Helsinki it was snowing. We had to climb down the stairs to the tarmac and be bused to the terminal. This meant that we did not go through the transfer desk or Passport Control which we were instructed was necessary for all people flying on to Asian destinations. We checked with several staff at the airport who did not seem too concerned. As it turned out no one ever asked for our passports. After a quick croissant snack we boarded the plane for our 10 hour overnight flight to Bangkok.
